The French steamer Champollion is leaving Marseilles on April 17 for Palestine, carrying approximately 1,000 Jewish refugees from eight countries, about two-thirds of whom will be children, it was announced here today.
The transportation is being arranged by the Jewish Agency, with the JDC paying for the refugees’ passage, and the HIAS financing their transportation to Marseilles by rail from various points in Europe.
