The recommendation of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry that the Palestine Government rescind its land laws, which imposes severe restrictions on Jewish land purchase in Palestine, was welcomed by Dr. Abraham Granovsky, head of the Jewish National Fund, in a message cabled from Jerusalem to Judge Morris Rothenberg, president of the JNF of America.
“This recommendation which, next to the recommendation for the admission of the 100,000 displaced Jews, is the second positive proposal of the Anglo-American Committee, now awaiting implementation, constitutes a recognition of the Jewish people’s will to secure its national freedom through the redemption of the soil of its ancient Homeland,” the JNF director said. “Irrespective of the outcome of the negotiations between the Governments of the United States and Great Britain, the admission of the justice of our case in opposition to the vicious land laws which have been imposed by the Palestine Government is very gratifying.”
