The British Government refused Palestine visas to Dr. Stephen S. Wise and Louis Lipsky because “we just did not want them in Palestine at this time,” a Foreign Office spokesman said today.

At the same time the Foreign Office was rejecting the Zionist leaders’ visas the Colonial Office was refusing a demand by several Members of Parliament that they be permitted to visit Palestine to investigate the situation there, it was revealed by Samuel Silverman, Labor, who had made the request.
