The United Nations Security Council’s membership committee today began consideration of applications for membership received from Albania, the Mongolian People’s Republic, Afghanistan and Transjordan. Applications will be taken up in the order in which they were received.
A U. N. spokesman said that since Transjordan’s application was received last, it was not expected that its application will be taken up before some time next week. Transjordan’s application was made in a letter dated June 26 from Minister of Foreign Affairs Shurayki.
