The director of the Palestine office in Trieste was arrested yesterday by Allied forces on charges of having aided groups of Jews slip into Italy from Yugoslavia, it was learned today.

British military police yesterday raided a training kibbutz in Naples and arrested three refugees. The soldiers, who said that they were looking for two deserters from a Jewish company attached to the British forces, stripped the kibbutz of all its food.

It was reported earlier this week that the British were preparing to clamp down on illegal immigration into Italy from central Europe by Jews seeking to reach Palestine and were questioning Jewish leaders in several Italian towns.
