Adam Cardinal Sapieha of Cracow also attributes the recent pogroms in Poland to the fact that “many key government posts are held by Jews,” the London Daily Mail reports in a dispatch from its correspondent in Poland.

In an interview with the Mail correspondent, Cardinal Sapieha said that there is “a good deal of feeling against the present government” and that resentment against the Jews who are participating in the government is carried over against the Jewish population. He added that most of the Jews fleeing Poland now come from Russia and cannot speak Polish.

The correspondent also reported crossing the Polish-Czech frontier yesterday at Kladsko with a group of 721 Jews who were fleeing en route to Palestine. He found anti-Jewish tension mounting in Poland.
