In response to a cable from Yugoslavia urging that the Joint Distribution Committee grant emergency funds lest Jewish community kitchens there be shut down and social services paralyzed, the J. D. C. today announced a special appropriation of $25,000 for the Autonomous Relief Committee of the Federation of Jewish Communities in that country.

J. D. C. shipments to Yugoslavia from the United States during the first seven months of this year totalled more than 400,000 pounds, including 257,000 pounds of food, 125,000 pounds of clothing and twelve tons of other supplies. These shipments were valued at more than $125,000, it was disclosed. J. D. C. appropriations for assistance other than contributions of supplies during the same period were $245,000.
