Britain Bringing German War Prisoners to Cyprus to Build Camps for Interned Jews

A transport of 500 German war prisoners will arrive in Cyprus tomorrow to supplement local labor there in building camps for Jewish immigrants diverted from Palestine, it was reported here today. A second transport of Nazis will arrive within a week.

Members of the students organization of the Hebrew University here were called on today to assist the agricultural settlements with their end-summer harvest since many colonists have been detained by the authorities. Most of the students expressed willingness to aid in the work.

The Hebrew paper Davar reports today that the 400 Jews who opposed British troops searching their quarters in Latrun prison yesterday, fought with the soldiers for two hours, during which the troops beat them with police clubs.
