J.t.a. Correspondent Defies British Attempts to Prevent His Reaching Rumania

Joseph Klarman, correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in Rumania, arrived here today after British officials in Italy prevented his return for several weeks.

The British authorities refused to arrange transportation for Klarman, who is a Palestine citizen, and kept him in Italy until his Soviet visa for re-entrance to Rumania expired. After he succeeded in renewing the re-entrance permit by telegraph, they placed new obstacles in his path. When it became clear that the British authorities were definitely trying to prevent him from reaching Rumania, Klarman flew to Switzerland where he succeeded in getting a place on a French plane on route here.
