The wholesale expulsion from the Sudeten city of Litomerice of all Jewish residents there who registered in a pre-war census as Czechoslovak citizens of German nationality, was prevented today following the energetic intervention of the Jewish Community Council.
The deportation order was not withdrawn, but the date of the mass-expulsion, set for today, was postponed temporarily as a result of the intervention. The order gave the Jews in Liberalize the choice of “emigrating” voluntarily before Sept. 8, or being expelled after that date.
