Lt. Benjamin Woodworth, British Army officer who several weeks ago was freed of a charged of murdering a Jew without provocation, has been dismissed from the service, it was officially announced today. Lt. Woodworth had been found guilty of manslaughter in the shooting of Abraham Rosenberg, a resident of Tel Aviv.
During his trial before a military court, Woodworth testified that he had fired in self-defense because he thought a Jewish “terrorist-kidnapper” was about to attack him. He declared he narrowly escaped being kidnapped together with the five British officers who were kidnapped from the Tel Aviv officers’ club on June 18.
