Jewish Refugees Still Continue to Cross into U.S. Zone in Austria; 150 Enter Daily

One hundred and fifty Jewish refugees from Easter Europe are still entering Austria daily, Dr. Philip S. Bernstein, adviser on Jewish affairs to U.S. Army forces in Europe, revealed at a press conference today.

Rabbi Bernstein, who returned to Germany from the United States this week, disclosed that he is starting on a two to three-week tour of the DP camps to study the needs of the displaced Jews for the coming winter. He will concentrate particularly on the newly-established camps for infiltrees. Before he leaves he is scheduled to talk with General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower, who is now visiting Germany.

David Ben Gurion, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, has arrived in Germany for a tour of the DP camps for Jews. He has already called at camps in and around Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Stuttgart.
