An appeal for the liberalization of U.S. immigration laws to permit the entrance of approximately 100,000 displaced persons to this country annually for a limited number of years, was made here last night by Earl Harrison, former Commissioner on Immigration and U.S. representative on the International Refugee Committee.
Speaking at the fall meeting of the National Social Welfare Assembly, Harrison urged that at least 300,000 DP’s be admitted to the United States on unused quotas set aside for countries whose citizens are not refugees.
