English Officer Who Criticized British Policy in Palestine Acquitted at Court Martial

Lt, Kenneth Gourlay, British officer court martialled for criticizing British policy in Palestine, was today acquitted. He had been tried on charges of libel against the Sixth Airborne division and Sir John Shaw, former secretary of the Palestine Government.

The charges were based on the article he had written for a British Army wall newspaper, Several witnesses, including Gourlay, testified that the article had been submitted to army headquarters for censorship and had been passed before being published.
