A certificate of appreciation to the Committee or Army and Navy Religious Activities of the National Jewish Welfare Board “in grateful recognition of meritorious personnel service during World War II” was presented today to the Committee by Captain Robert D. Workman, Chief of Chaplains of the Third Naval District. Through this committee, the JWB recruited 311 Jewish chaplains who served during World War II, Of these, 42 were in the Navy.
