The installation of Rabbi J.L. Unterman as Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv took place yesterday at two ceremonies attended by Jewish civil and religious leaders from all parts of Palestine, including Palestine Chief Rabbis Isaac Herzog and Ben Zion Usiel.

The Metropolitan of Leningrad, now visiting here, has proposed to Chief Rabbi Herzog a program for fostering the relationship between Russian Jewry and the Jewish community of Palestine. The Metropolitan is reported to have promised Herzog to intervene with the Russian authorities in order to permit Herzog to visit Moscow.
