The vessel which foundered off the Dodecanese island of Sirini last week-end, stranding nearly 800 Jewish immigrants for several days was purchases by a Jewish resident of Athens several months ago, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Christopher Mayhew told the House of Commons today. Replying to a question, Mayhew said that flag flew either the Greek or Panamanian colors, and sailed from the Yugoslav port of Backa on Nov. 26.
