The Rumanian War Ministry has opened an investigation to determine responsibility for the desecration of the Dorohoi Jewish cemetery in 1940, it was revealed here.
The inquiry was initiated at the instigation of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Rumania, Tombstones in the comster were knocked down and carried away, to be used later for paving the latrines of an infantry regiment camp.
