Henry Morgenthau Jr., general chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, is leaving tomorrow on a tour of major communities, where he will address local leaders on the needs of Jews overseas and the aid required to resettle Jewish DP’s arriving in the U.S., it was announced today by UJA national headquarters.

Mr. Morgenthau told a press conference this afternoon that he has given up all public activities in order to devote all his energies to the $170,000,000 UJA drive. The conference was also addressed by Henry Montor and Isidor Coons, executive vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal. They revealed that the U.J.A. will concentrate this year on securing contributions from non-Jews as well as Jews in many communities throughout the United States, and that regional U.J.A. activities will be strengthened in order to secure new Jewish contributors.
