Police Investigating Fire in Cairo Synagogue; Library and Valuable Books Destroyed

Local police officials are investigating a fire in an ancient synagogue in Cairo’s Jewish quarter. Before fireman brought the blaze under control the library and a large number of valuable books and manuscripts were destroyed. It is believed that the fire was started by thieves.
