Council for Judaism Rarley Urges Distinction Be Made Between “jew” and “zionist”

A resolution calling upon the U.S. Government and the American people “to keep in mind that no organization exists which can, with any authority whatsoever, speak on behalf of all Jews, and that it is necessary to make a clear distinction between the term ‘Jew’ and ‘Zionist’ and to realize that they are not synonymous, “was adopted last night at the closing session of the national conference of the American Council for Judaism.

The conference also adopted a resolution condemning “unequivocally” all who in any capacity “make an effort to create the impression that there exists a so-called “Jewish vote.” Another resolution offered cooperation to Jewish religious organizations in America “for the purpose of intensifying the religious loyalty of the Jews and strengthening the religious institutions of our faith.”
