The 1947 Greater Miami Combined Jewish Appeal drive for $1,309,741 was launched here at a meeting of 500 Jewish leaders headed by Stanley C. Myers, campaign leader and chairman of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds.

The Miami quota places it for the first time among cities which are raising more than $1,000,000, Mr. Myers pointed out. He said that $900,000 of the total will go to the United Jewish Appeal, while the balance will be divided among local agencies and 51 national organizations.
