The project for settling 10,000 refugees in the Philippine Islands, arrangements for which had been completed just prior to the out-break of the war, is receiving fresh consideration, it was disclosed today in the annual report of the Refugee Economic Corporation, which negotiated the original agreement with the Philippine Government.
The report, which was issued by Charles J. Liehman, president of the REC, said that although the refugees who were assisted in settling in the Philippines before the war suffered greatly during the Japanese occupation, they are showing evidence of rapid economic recovery and most of the refugee community has decided to remain in the Islands.
Mr. Liehman also reported that the REC has resumed its activities in Europe, particularly in France, Greece, Swedan and Holland. The Palestine immigrants added, remain sound and through Dec. 1946, the Isaac, ## which are made in cooperation with the Palestine Economic Corporation ##.
