The Rumanian press today reports that a bill drafted by the Premier’s office provides for the establishment of an Institute of Nationalities, which will have as its purpose the bettering of relations between the Rumanian people and the national minorities living in Rumania through a study of the ethnic, social and cultural aspects of the minority groups.

Welcoming the setting up of the new agency, the Jewish press requests that a special Jewish department be established in the Institute, in addition to the contemplated Hungarian and Slav departments. Jews are not considered a national minority under the new Rumanian constitution.
