The Rumanian Ministry of Finance announced yesterday that the government will grant Jewish schools, hospitals and cultural institutions 25,000,000,000 lei (nominally $165,000) during the coming fiscal year.

Earlier this month, the Ministry stated that it would only grant 8,000,000,000 ## The increase in subsidies resulted from protests by various Jewish organizations and leaders. Responsible Jewish circles consider the increase insufficient to provide for full programs for the institutions involved.
