Monument Erected to Jewish Martyrs in Transylvanian Town-will Be Unveiled by Chief Rabbi

A monument to Jewish victims of Nazi persecutions has been erected on the grounds of the Jewish cemetery at Medias, Transylvania, where a large quantity of soap manufactured from human fat derived from the bodies of Jews was buried last year.

The monument, which bears the names of all the Jewish victims of Medias, will be dedicated by Chief Rabbi Alexander Shafran. Local government and military officials will attend the unveiling ceremony.
