The K.A.M. Temple–“Kehilath Anshe Mayriv,” or ##gregation of the Men of the West–the oldest synagogue in the Northwest, will observe the 100th anniversary of its founding beginning next week with a two-month celebration which will bring religious leaders from various sections of the United States ## mark the occasion, it was announced here today.At the same time, the entire Jewish community of Chicago will join in K.A.M.’s anniversary celebration, since this occasion is also the 100th anniversary celebration of Chicago Jews. The first Jewish Chicagoan was J. Gottlieb, who arrived in ### 38, but left shortly thereafter. Four permament Jewish settlers to the village of ?hicagou” came in 1841, among them one Henry Horner, whose namesake and descendant ###s later to become Governor of Illinois.
