Engine Trouble Forces Ships to Turn Back to Gibraltar; Pregnant Women Stay Aboard

The three British vessels returning the 4,400 visaless Exodus Jews to Germany returned here today because of engine trouble on one of the ships, the Ocean Vigor, after having set sail earlier.

Fifty-seven women in advanced stages of pregnancy declined the British offer to disembark in Gibraltar and later be sent to Palestine. However, six refugees requiring urgent medical attention have landed here, it was learned.
