Ben Kaplan, Joint Distribution Committee supply chief for Germany, flew to Marseilles to obtain 2,000 Palestinian “esrogim” and “lulavim” for distribution for the Succoth holidays to Jews in DP camps and other places in Germany. The U.S. Army provided Kaplan with a plane for this purpose.
