The New York City pier service of HIAS received (##)l Jewish passengers arriving on 40 ships and 14 planes during the month of August, (##) was reported today by Isaac L. Asofsky, HIAS executive director. During the same (##)riod, Mr. Asofsky said, HIAS entrained 101 passengers for destinations in other (##)ties, while 178 were brought to the HIAS Shelter in New York for food, lodging, and (##)ial until resettlement could be accomplished.
