U.S. Military Tribunal in Dachau Sentences Two Nazis to Death for Murdering Camp Inmates

An American military tribunal in Dachau today sentenced to death by hanging, Otto Kleinguenther and Christian Wohlcrab, former SS ## and medical orderlies at Mauthausen concentration camp. They were found guilty of having murdered inmates of the camp by giving them injections with gasoline. The number of their victims was not known.

Steffen Malleschits, a non-commissioned officer of the SS who was in charge of the transports which took sick inmates to the gas chambers at Hartheim Castle, in Austria, was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment. Rolf Brandt, former non-commissioned officer of the SS and a dentist, who pulled out gold teeth of Nazi victims and made a fortune was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. Three defendants were acquitted.
