Former Assistant Secretary of State John H. Hilldring will be special adviser on Palestine to the American delegation to the United Nations, it is reliably learned here today.
General Hilldring is considered in high official circles in Washington to be ##ll equipped to act in this capacity, in view of his close acquaintance with many aspects of the Palestine problem. In the State Department he was intimately concerned with the question of displaced persons and refugees. His experience in this field ?tes back even further to his previous service as chief of the Civil Affairs Division of the War Department.
