Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin conferred with Abdul ?man Azzam Pasha, secretary-general of the Arab League, yesterday, but neither would disclose the nature of their conversation.
The Foreign Office has refused to confirm reports that an interdepartmental government sub-committee which has been considering Britain’s stand on Palestine in the light of the UNSCOP report has completed its deliberations. The sub-committee conference was to pave the way for a later meeting of the Cabinet on the matter.
