Three small arms caches, allegedly belonging to the Irgun Zvai Leumi, were discovered today when police and troops raided the Bukharian quarter of Jerusalem, which was placed under a curfew for five hours. The troops proceeded directly to the caches, leading to the assumption that they had been tipped off to their location.
Among the booty uncovered were rifles, bombs, pistols, gelignite and other explosives, two flame throwers, 1,023 rounds of ammunition, a time bomb mechanism, two Molotov cocktails and five grenades.
Police today were still hunting for the persons who last night broke into the home of David Ben Gurion and ransacked the rooms. Nothing was taken except for a pistol, for which the Zionist leader has a license.
