Argentine Jewish Organization for Overseas Relief Raises $250,000; Drive Extended

The Argentine United Assistance Organization or Jewish War Victims, which distributes assistance to Jews abroad through the re##ief programs of both the Joint Distribution Committee and the World Jewish Congress, las already raised more than 1,000,000 pesos ($250,000) and has pledges for an additional 500,000 pesos, David Groisman, president of the organization, revealed at a fress conference here.

The campaign, which opened June 22, has been extended for several more months ecause it is lagging behind the goal of 7,000,000 pesos, Groisman stated. He also isclosed that a number of difficulties involved in sending relief supplies abroad which the organization had encountered were solved when a high official in the inistry of Commerce and Industry was recently removed from office.
