Governors of 35 States Urge Strong Pro-jewish Stand on Palestine by Americans at U.N.

The governors of 35 states have called upon President Truman to assure a firm U.S. stand at the United Nations General Assembly on the Palestine issue in consonance with the traditional American policy supporting wish aims, it was announced here today by the American Zionist Emergency Council.

In addition the Council also disclosed that 23 governors had signed a telegram to the President urging that the U.S. delegation at Lake Success “give full and ##gorous support” to the UNSCOP majority recommendations. The message said in part at the governors “wholeheartedly endorse” the majority proposals “as an equitable unpromise, giving at least some satisfaction to legitimate Jewish needs.”
