Some 85 Jewish refugees arrived here today on the Imie Pyle among 266 quota immigrants of all faiths who are entering the country under President Truman’s program to facilitate immigration of refugees from Germany. They were aided in emigrating by the JDC and HIAS.
The United Service for New Americans, which extended its corporate visa to 37 of the refugees, sent its representatives to the pier to meet the Jews. Other organizations, including HIAS, were also represented at the docks. The passengers boarded the vessel in Bremerhaven.
