Dr. William Filderman, president of the Union of Rumanian Jews, has announnced his resignation. The reason for his action, he said, as that the organization’s activities were hampered by an acute shortage of funds.

Attorneys who in the past may have shown an anti-Semitic attitude in or out of court may henceforth be barred from the Rumanian bar, according to new regulations remulgated yesterday, which provide for the reorganization of the legal profession in the country. The law dissolving all bar associations, as well as other legal groups, stipulates that anti-Semites will not be permitted to re-registration.

The Rumanian Socialist and Communist parties, which have agreed on a common political platform, have included a special plank which commits them to the “sternest fight against anti-Semitism.”
