Nineteen young Jewish DP’s, said to be Irgunists, yesterday went on trial before a French military court at Innsbruck on charges of murder and robbery during an assault on the Gnadenwald DP camp. The defendants pleaded not guilty.

The trial is a result of a clash at the camp between Irgunists and Haganah members when the former attempted to free three of their members who had been imprisoned by the Haganah to keep them from interfering with plans for assembling DP’s and starting them on their blockade-running voyages to Palestine. One Haganah member died during the attacks which occurred September 25 and three were wounded.
