Several hundred Jewish refugees arrived here aboard the Marine Tiger today among more than 500 DP’s of all faiths entering the United States as immigrants.

The refugees were met by representatives of the United Service for New Americans and the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. One hundred and nineteen of them arrived under USNA’s corporate affidavit, while 114 were assisted by HIAS, 94 arriving under the organization’s corporate affidavit. Among the 94 were Percy Haid, only Jewish composer to survive the German concentration camps, and Dr. Edmund Carter-Rosenhauch, eminent eye specialist, who escaped from the Cracow ghetto.
