Jewish Agency Raises Zion Flag in London; Banners Fly from Homes in Jewish Section

The Jewish Agency building on Great Russel St. today raised the Jewish flag, which was also flown by many Jewish homes in the Jewish-populated East End.

An Agency statement issued here today declared that the U.N. decision recognizes the justice of the Jewish claim for statehood and vindicates the “wisdom of the great, far-sighted act taken by Britain in 1917.” The Jewish State brings peace to the Jewish people, the message said, and progress to the Middle East and will bear its responsibilities in a fitting manner.
