The 250 Jewish farm families who constitute the Toms River Community of Jewish Farmers were praised yesterday by President Truman in a message congratulating them on the occasion of their 25th anniversary. The 250 represent nearly half of the poultry products in Ocean County, which is the eighth largest poultry producing area in the U.S.
Mr. Truman lauded the farmers for their share in building the country’s poultry industry and for communal activities which aided themselves and their neighbors. Principal speaker at an anniversary celebration yesterday was Dr. Gabriel Davidson, head of the Jewish Agricultural Society.
