Richard Tauber, singer, composer and contactor died here today at the age of 56.

Born in Linz in 1892, Tauber made his debut in 1913 at the State Theatre in ##emintz, after which he achieved rapid and continuing success in various opera discuses throughout Europe. He was banished from Nazi Germany 1933 and went to #lie last appearance in the U.S. was at a recital in Carnegie Hall last March.
