Afghanistan Jews in India Permitted to Remain Until End of April, W.j.c. Announces

A group of 200 Afghanistan Jew who haw been living in India on temporary visas following an expulsion order issued last September will be permitted to remain in the country until the end of April, it was announced today by Dr. Robert S. Marcus, acting political director of the World Jewish Congress.

Originally numbering 280, the group came to India after fleeing pogroms in Afghanistan. About 80 of the have already left for Palestine and it is believed that many of the others will follow suit before the end of April.
