Ten officials of the Maidanek “death camp” have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from three to ten years. The group includes Austrians, Yugoslavs and Rumanians.
It was learned here today that officials in the British zone of Germany have rescinded an order under which 87 Polish war criminals were to have been repatriated to Poland. Among the 87 are: M. Bartech, assistant chief of police in Poland during the Nazi occupation, who was responsible for the death of thousands of Jews in Cra?ow; H. von Malotky, who was responsible for the murder of Jews in Tarnow, and a Professor Thoering, who was involved in much of the looting of Poland’s art treasures.
