Two Jews Shot at Rumanian Frontier; Several Arrested and Returned to Bucharest

Two Rumanian Jews were shot last week by Rumanian frontier guards while attempting to cross the Rumanian-Hungarian border at a point between Arad and Nagyvarod it was reported here today by Jewish refugees from Rumania ### succeeded in evading the frontier patrols.

Several Jews were arrested and brought back to Bucharest, where they have been imprisoned, the Jews said. Meanwhile, the influx of Rumanian Jews into Austria as practically ceased because of severe winter conditions as well as the strict order patrols.

According to well-informed sources, Rumanian Jews are now waiting to leave be country for Palestine by way of Rumanian ports, rather than make the difficult overland route through Europe.
