For the first time in 15 years the Jewish Community of Berlin held free elections today for members of the community council.

Of the 21 councillors elected, ten are Liberals, six are members of the Jewish National Unity Party and the remaining five are independents. The major plank in the platforms of both the Liberal and Unity candidates was a declaration that “Palestine is the Jewish peopled homeland.”
