Dr. L.I. Rabinowitz, chief rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregation here, left for Palestine to investigate whether unity among the Jewish armed forces in Palestine can be established.

Prior to his departure, he said that the breakdown of negotiations for unity among the Haganah, Irgun and Sternist forces has led to confusion in the South African Jewish community and it was essential to investigate the matter on the spot. He will stop off in Kenya to Visit the detention camp at Gilgil where Jews from Palestine have been sent by the government for alleged acts of terrorism.
