Hensel Describes Palestine Situation in First Hand Study Report to U.J.A. Officers

Regardless of all difficulties, the Jews of Palestine “are determined to make available a home and a haven for hundreds of thousands homeless European Jewish survivors,” Col. Henry D. Hensel, a leader in the 1948 United Jewish Appeal campaign, who has just returned from a tour of Palestine, reported here today to officers of the U. J. A.

Col. Hensel reported that “despite all the shooting, Palestine life is pretty which normal.” He said that he was told that native Arab Palestinians were reluctant ### Join in attacks on the Jews, but that they were being forced to take part by the ##vaders from Syria, Iraq and other Arab countries.
