Polish Jews Mark Establishment of Israel; Similar Celebrations in Other Countries

Special services wore held in the synagogues of all Jewish communities in Poland this week and as Jews of all factions united in solemn commemoration of the establishment of Israel Prayers were also recited for the billions of Jews killed in Poland during the Nazi regime.

Prime Minister Josef Cyrankiewicz received a delegation of the Jewish Central committee, headed by Dr. Adolph Berman, noted partisan leader, and assured the Jews that the Polish Government will continue to give full support to the cause of Jewish Independence. The Polish national radio devoted a special broadcast to the new state and mass meetings in various parts of the country were addressed by Jewish leaders of all political philosophies.
